Singular is a collection of unique and limited edition works that explore the possibilities of collectible design through material play and sculptural form. In this space, the studio experiments – drawing on an enduring connection to textiles while transforming them through process, scale and unexpected materiality. Fabric, drape and garment-like shapes are reinterpreted as solid timber forms in salvaged douglas fir, using trompe-l’œil techniques. Each piece begins as a fabric form, draped and shaped by hand, and is 3D scanned to preserve its contours. It is then machine-carved in timber and finished manually.
